Apparently theres a new sim called "FEAR"
Anyways after some very minor research it turns out its not a new combat system at all. FEAR's "meter" is run by WARPS and we all know what runs WARPS. So...stolen bike, repainted, still a stolen bike. With that said, there is, apparently, someone going around offering half of your CCS XP for this "new" meter if people delete their CCS sheets. Alright, fine with me. Unlike Luxa, who took away the players right to delete their own sheets when they wanted to leave the illegitimate system....I will be more than happy to leave that functionality available for those of you that feel going back to WARPS under another name is a good deal for you. But, from this day forward, no character data deleted by the player will be restored....ever again. You are welcome to take this deal being offered, but be advised, if you delete your CCS data, it will not be restored in any fashion, by any admin or GM. Ever. I've informed my lawyer of the situation, now that the WARPS system has been sold/licensed to another party, the WARPS matter is no longer a civil court matter, but I believe falls under the U.S. Justice Department's jurisdiction now....we shall find out. Anyways just a heads up folks. I don't mind if people want to play in different systems, thats just fine with me, just don't expect me to restore all your data simply because you got fooled by yet another WARPS system fraud. Have fun kids. Discuss this News Item on the Forum Al parecer, Hay un "nuevo" meter en la ciudad llamado FEAR.

Hey all just dropping a quick note, right here, on the front page so people are aware my availability will be spotty for the next 3 days. I am moving out of the apartment I'm in and into a better one between the 30th and the 1st and theres a lot of packing and moving to be done in that short bit of time. Regardless of that, I am attempting to ensure my cable transfers quickly so I'm not offline for too long a time once I make the move...so hopefully if this all goes right my sketchy availability will not run for more than 4 days total. I will attempt to get in and out of SL as I have time to handle priority stuff but please refer to Stormy Wilde, She Juniper, Karoline Merlin, CherryFizz Maltz or any of the senior CoLA GM staff in regards to questions you might need to pose to me. Thanks all, will make this as fast as possible. |

We've set up the Simple Machines forum CMS, this allows us to bridge your Joomla Login and your Forum registration so logging in on the main site logs you in to the forum as well. Regardless theres still a lot to go work wise here, but I'm working my way through it as we get things tidied up with the new structure we'll be using for the site. To replace the CoLA Fiction Forum, I'll be adding user blog functionality which will be allowing you all to create custom character focused blogs that are attached to your user details for the site, so you can keep a running fiction account of your character, upload images, and keep a character record for public view right as part of the site content. |

Heya all, as you may or may not have been told I had a bit of a health issue the last couple weeks and was getting that all sorted out. Regardless its passed now and I'm feeling better so we're going to start getting to work in regards to the website (which yes, may be changing a bit....again...please bear with us) and other many varied projects that we have going on at this time. I feel at this time its probably best to let you know where our plans lie over the next 90 days or so...as we head into 2009 and CoLA's third year of existence. First of all, have you been to Little China lately? You should be checking it out, scoping out the best places to chill and hang out and looking into some temporary base space for your factions an famlies there because, well, if you do, you'll be ahead of the rush. Why do I say that? Well, the rumors are true, CoLA is going to be rebuilt sometime in the next 90 days. And in that 90 days of time, due to the situation with New Gommorrah not being ready for prime time yet as it were, we'll be redirecting the community to Little China for the interim of the rebuild as the main area of roleplay. "Awww but Suz its a mall!".....no its not its one of the most creative malls I've seen in SL in a long time and theres lots of roleplay dedicated space over there and I'm more than sure Mera and Niemack and Stormy will be more than willing to ensure it serves all the purposes it needs to serve during the transition. The LA rebuild, in my head, is going to be a 30 day rework. I will be pulling the sim out of the chain entirely during the rebuild phase so I won't be disturbed while I build and when its replaced in the chain I do plan to slide Aracadia into LA's old slot, connecting it north of South Gate and south of North Gate, and placing LA North of New Gommorrah and west of Little China to better facilitate ease of play between the three main play areas of the sim....retaining Lost Beach as a coastal play area south of Saint Monicas District, which will become the new location of the Mahoney Arms apartment chain. Overall while this may be inconvenient for some its going to really help us bring down the lag in LA a bit and give us a wonderful new environment to explore and play and be bad in. LA as it is right now was designed to cater to a ton of different needs because we only had the one island when we got it, now that we have so much expansion space, its now time for LA to be reconfigured as a primary central play area and to allow for it to overcome the design issues its stuck with right now because its still set up to try to do everything. So regardless, if you have a base in LA now, you may wish to start looking for base space in Little China or one of the bedroom sims to hold you over til LA comes back, when LA comes back, bases are going to be a bit less defined, there will be business fronts people can take over, there will be a common bar called the Zodiac Lounge, but my direction on this rebuild is to get back to density of play area with lots of nooks and crannies and dark places for dark and wonderful things to happen. Factional bases within the borders of LA will be worked out as I've got the primary concerns of the build done and I'll be pulling in the factional heads then and sorting all that out when the situation presents itself. Also CCS 5.0 is underway, we will have a minor bug fix release probably in the next week to two weeks that will be 4.9-8 that will be addressing a few issues that cropped up with the latest build, but the primary focus is the 5.0 overhaul that will be giving new life to the game in its entirity and redesigning our play style to be even more fun and more engaging than its been over the last two years because well....we've been doing it the longest and we know where the mistakes we've made are. So big times ahead in this wonderful and ever changing community. Hold onto your hats, cause its all coming soon. |
